Fantastic! I had a friend once who had a pet groundhog. It was so cute; it made chirping sounds like, "LA OOO!" when the fridge door would open. It knew that's where the veggies were kept.

It makes me happy that you've decided to befriend the little guy rather than drive him out with traps or poison. He's so cute, and it's pleasant to have a groundhog around.

yeah every time i open the screen on my window he hears it and comes out to see if i through him some food. he loves bananas though it probably isn't the best food for him. i do want to trap him and take him down by the river where i know there are more groundhogs. hes all by himself here and i think he needs some friends. i don't mind him eating my plants but sooner or later he will piss off a neighbor. then again i'd like to keep him around.

They can't be . . . .humans on the other hand.

Gotta always keep in mind who's in charge.

i'm not trying to tame him just trying to let him eat from my hand. i don't want him for a pet or anything like that.

Oh I know - I was just sayin.

That groundhog almost has YOU tamed.

He tells his friends each night "I almost have him HANDING food to me!"

in oregon we also have marmots...i'm not sure what a newtrem is though, but i think the willamette is the river being refered to...it is located west of the cascade mountain range and flows from central oregon through to portland and created the willamette valley... it then empties into the columbia river which is on the border between washington and oregon and heads westward to the pacific ocean...end of geography lesson for the day...*W*

There are a lot of groundhogs near where I live, although I live in the middle of the country so I suppose it's no surprise. That little guy is cute. Have you named him?

nice to see you still have the groundhog, or the "maryland marmot" as they used to be known. they are all over the place down here, including, sadly, all over the roads.

I love groundhogs! I love it how they always look like they are up to something! I have a big old fat mean opossum that frequents my yard, but I don't think that I am going to hand feed him...perhaps if he was an adorable groundhog...

Thanks Scott! I'm feeling a bit homesick now...haven't seen a groundhog in the three years since I moved from Tremont to Seattle!!! You tend to miss the strangest things.

Loved the new set of work you posted a few days back...
